Double D’s Coffee and Desserts

Double D’s Coffee and Desserts is a unique coffee shop in Downtown Asheville, North Carolina. The shop is an adorable converted double decker bus. On the first deck, the barista crafts the drinks and on the second deck there is a seating area. There was also a garden patio for outdoor seating with hanging market lights. Our barista was so friendly. She recommended the lavender or peppermint mocha flavors. I ended up with the special crafted drink of the day, a Blackberry Lavender White Mocha latte. E had an iced peppermint mocha coffee. The blackberry lavender mocha was a wonderful sweet and floral compliment to the creamy latte and was at the perfect drinking temperature. Typically, I burn my tongue when ordering hot drinks, but this one was not too hot, not too cold, but just right. I noticed that Asheville really loves lavender. Almost every where we went, there was some sort of lavender flavoring: French Broad Chocolate Lounge Lavender Honey Signature Sipping Chocolate, Tupelo Honey Lavender Limade Fizz, French Broad Chocolate Cookies and Creamery Lavender and Honey ice cream, etc. (This was great for my current lavender fixation!)

Double D’s is cash-only, so make sure you have some bills in your wallet. The little coffee shop is a staple if visiting Asheville for its great coffee and unique storefront.
