Ellie has enjoyed watching classic Disney movies, so we thought this was a fitting birthday theme. We decided to have a mini Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom experience theme for her 2nd birthday. We also went later that month to Disney World for her first time.

My mom allowed us to host the birthday party at her house. All five “lands” were in different locations throughout the house.

  • Fantasyland: the entrance with pony rides out in the front (Disney’s Fantasyland has a carousel)
  • Tomorrowland: a fun blaster game outside in the back (based off of Buzz Lightyear’s galactic ride)
  • Adventureland: outside on the other side of the house with a mini pirate’s chest and a tot jungle gym
  • Frontierland: a station for guests to play “Hidden Mickeys” and receive a trading pin
  • Main Street, USA: food served inside

At the entrance, we had a basket filled with a welcome sign and for the children in attendance to “grab an ear!”. The set I bought came with Mickey and Minnie Ears.

At the door’s entrance, we had a Minnie Mouse standing plush toy with the goodie boxes. The goodie boxes were found at Hobby Lobby. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the names of the children. These boxes would later be used for the piñata. We had some Disney character toys around the party, just like you would see characters walking around at Disney.

FANTASYLAND

In Fantasyland, we had two stations: one for the children to color Disney themed coloring pages, and the second station was pony rides. Our little princess loved riding both of the ponies.

TOMORROWLAND

In this part of the party, we had a launcher foam ball/darts game (similar). This was to represent the Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin ride.

MAIN STREET, USA

The next area we had was the food and drinks station, which was designated as Main Street, USA. We had finger foods like sandwiches, fruits, and a pasta salad. The white napkins with gold stars represent the magic of Disney.

FRONTIERLAND

This section of the party had a Hidden Mickey activity game. Hidden Mickeys are representations of Mickey hidden or inserted into designs and locations throughout the Disney Parks. If you are interested in finding them on your next Disney World trip, use this Hidden Mickeys Guide (with pictures OR without pictures) for a scavenger hunt throughout the park. For our party, I hid 5 Mickeys throughout the five lands. The prize for those who found the five hidden Mickeys would get to choose a Disney Trading Pin of their choice (another fun activity that many people do at the Disney parks).

Topiary Hidden Mickey

This topiary Hidden Mickey was created by using a small topiary, and placing two smaller topiaries into the larger one to be the ears.

Shell Hidden Mickey

The next Hidden Mickey was created using shells. My mom has some shells in her backyard, so I thought this was another creative way to showcase a Mickey representation.

The next hidden Mickey was not incorporated into the scenery like the previous two, but this one was created with gold pipe cleaners and placed in the “flower garden”.

The next Hidden Mickey was shown as wall art out of a floral garland. I hung it up using Command Strips. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the fifth Hidden Mickey, but it was an image of the Mickey silhouette and taped onto a tot play gym we had in “Adventureland”.

ADVENTURELAND

In this part of the party, we had the tot play gym and a Pirate’s treasure chest filled with plastic gold coins, and jewels.

CAKE & PINATA TIME

For the cake area, we had a Disney Castle backdrop behind the Costco cake.

The cake decorations:

The Disney Princess Castle piñata was found at Walmart and was filled with candies and other Disney mini toys: (Mickey and Friends Finger Puppets and Mickey Mega Mix Value Pack).

My Minnie Mouse Ears headband. I created my shirt design on my Silhouette.

BIRTHDAY PRINCESS OUTFIT

Top: Etsy Mermaid Sequin Minnie Ruffle shirt
Skirt: iloveplum tulle skirt shorts or (similar).
Shoes: Skechers Twinkle Toes Unicorn Wings sneakers
Hairclips: Minnie Ear Clips

Balloons:

Pink Princess Two Balloon
Mouse Colorful Balloons

For fun, my mom made Mickey waffles with this waffle maker (similar). We also had a Disney must have: Dole Whip! Dole Whip is a frozen pineapple dessert in Magic Kingdom. We bought a Dole Soft Serve pineapple mix, made it with water (so our vegan friends could enjoy it as well). Definitely a Disney staple if you ever go to Disney.
