My daughter loves macarons, so when I asked her what kind of theme she wanted for her third birthday, she said macarons at the park. As I did my research of how to decorate for her birthday, it evolved into a picnic in Paris. We rented a pavilion shelter at one of our county’s parks.
For the main centerpiece, which featured the cake and macarons, we had a mini Eiffel Tower with a gold, number 3 candle (pick cut off), three pastel balloons (pink, blue, and green), and a faux lavender arrangement. My mom thrifted the Eiffel Tower and spray painted it pink. Both the birthday cake and the macarons were from Costco. I believe the plastic pink, checkered/gingham tablecloth was from Dollar Tree (similar).

Our food was a combination of Publix platters and my mom made a delicious quiche side. To make it like a little picnic for the kids, we put together brown paper lunch bags which included: an Uncrustable, Goldfish pouch, a Honest Kids juice box, and a mandarin. The food table decoration was a white plastic tablecloth with a pink gingham table runner.
The number “three” candle for the cake was an adorably design with macaron colored 3D dots. The other classic pastel candles were purchased at Publix.
For Parisian picnic activities, we had mini canvas easels and paints for the children to create with. We also had a mini bubble machine for the younger kids to enjoy as they ran through the field behind the shelter. There was also a nearby playground for them to play on.

Although it was a beautiful day at the park, we actually had a thunderstorm that was about to roll in and the lightning warning alarm began to sound. We had to quickly pack up everything and rush out of the park before the storm began! Even though this party was in March 2024, my daughter still talks about her party to this day. It was definitely a hit for her and I’m so glad she was able to enjoy it with our family and friends.
